Ring of fire

With only 20 minutes before the eclipse was over, this photo was all about perfect timing, with the boy unexpectedly walking into the photo

Photographer Colleen Pinski used a super telephoto lens and a Canon 7D to help secure this larger than life image, as well as a hot-mirror to protect the camera sensor, and some ND filters. She travelled 370 miles from Denver to find the perfect spot to shoot this solar eclipse in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In this photo, a boy stands 1.5 miles away from the photographer on a ridge, and is framed perfectly by the outline of the sun.
